Real terminals, side by side, just as you left them.
Split the screen into as many terminals as you need. When you reopen the app, each pane comes back in the same folder with its last lines on screen. When an agent stops and asks for something, the tab and macOS let you know.

As many terminals as you want on one screen.
Each pane is a real terminal, with a shell and colors. Press ⌘D to split the focused pane, drag the divider to resize, and close what you no longer need. A pane can be a plain shell or an AI agent.
The layout is saved per project. Close and reopen the app and you find the same panes, in the same folder, with the last lines visible. Agent panes try to resume the previous conversation (see supported agents).
The agent stopped to ask. You find out.
When an agent is waiting for your answer, the pane shows the “waiting for you” state. The project tab gets a ⚠ even if you are looking at another project, and macOS sends a notification. Once you answer, the state goes back to “working”.
The status bar sums up how many agents are working and how many are waiting. That is the only highlight color in the bar.
1 working · 1 waiting for you
Click the address or file that shows up in the terminal.
Web addresses open in your system browser. File paths, including line and column, like the ones a compiler or an agent prints, open in your VS Code at the right position. Terminal hyperlinks work too.
VS Code is not embedded in the app: it is yours, with your extensions and settings.
Overview and palette
- ⌘0 opens the overview, with every project and its state.
- ⌘K opens the palette: switch tabs, split the pane, change the pane’s agent, open in VS Code, rename the project.
- ⌘1 to ⌘9 switch projects.
Font and size, your way.
In ⌘, you pick the terminal font (JetBrains Mono, Menlo, SF Mono or the name of any installed font), its weight and its size. There is also a separate interface size and a button to go back to the defaults.
What it leaves out
- It is not a separate emulator: the terminals live inside Tactyn, per project.
- It does not embed VS Code or a browser in the window.
Open the app and split the screen.
